Q: If applying as a new consultant, do I need a specific degree?
A: No, we welcome applications from any degree, discipline, or background.

Q: Do we offer degree apprenticeships?
A: Yes, we work with Exeter University, and the role is in our Bristol office. It starts in September annually. You can apply on our website from January to March. These are fantastic opportunities for school leavers to start their careers in consulting while studying for a BSc Digital & Technology Solutions.

Q: What is the application process?
A: The application process for both early career hires and experienced hires is shown below. It is an assessment centre for early career hires, and for experienced hires, it is a two-stage interview process.

THE PROCESS

Your route into consulting starts here

A career in consulting looks different depending on where you are starting from. You might be finishing university, combining study with work, or bringing experience from previous roles.

What stays consistent is the work you will do, the responsibility you will take on, and the standards we hold as a consulting firm. We have designed our application routes to reflect different career stages, while staying true to the reality of consulting and the way we work with our clients.

Choose the route that fits where you are

Graduate Consultants

Starting your consulting career as a graduate

If you are completing or have recently completed a university degree and are ready to begin your career in consulting, this route is designed for you.

As a graduate consultant, you will take on real client work early, learn how to solve complex problems, and build the foundations of a long term consulting career.

Our application process is designed to reflect the reality of consulting work. Instead of asking for a generic cover letter, we want to understand how you think, how you structure information, and how you reflect on the impact you have made.

When you apply, you will be asked to submit:
  • Your CV, outlining your background and experience
  • A short written response explaining why you are interested in a career in consulting
  • A Showcase of Achievement, a short presentation where you share an experience you are proud of, your role in it, and why it mattered
We are interested in clarity, learning, and personal contribution rather than perfect answers or a specific type of experience.

Degree Apprentices

Building a consulting career while you study

If you want to combine university study with real consulting experience, our Degree Apprentice route allows you to do both from day one.

You will join us as a permanent employee, contribute to live client work, and develop your skills over time while completing a fully funded university degree.

Because this route is designed for people earlier in their careers, the application process focuses on your potential, motivation, and readiness to balance work and study.

The process includes?

  • An online application with short written responses
  • A video interview
  • An assessment day with a group task, a short business scenario, and a final interview
Throughout the process, we look for curiosity, collaboration, clear communication, and how you approach learning, rather than prior professional experience.

Experienced Hires

Bringing your experience into consulting with us

If you have experience in consulting, delivery, or complex transformation environments, this route is designed to understand how you operate in real client situations.

We hire experienced consultants when there is a strong match between your experience, capability, and our client's needs. From early on, you will be trusted to take ownership, exercise judgement, and contribute with increasing autonomy.

Our interview process is structured but experience‑led. We focus on a small number of examples you have personally owned and explore them in depth, rather than working through scripted questions.

The process typically includes:

  • An initial screening conversation to confirm experience alignment and interest
  • One or more experience‑based interviews focused on delivery ownership, judgment, and professional maturity
  • A senior discussion, including a case‑based conversation, to understand how you structure problems, make decisions, and communicate with confidence
As part of the process, we also include a forward‑looking discussion to explore how you think about growth, leadership, and the impact you want to have over time.

Throughout the process, we aim to create space for thoughtful, open conversations about your experience and how you approach your work. This is as much an opportunity for you to understand how we operate as it is for us to get to know you.

We want you to leave the process with a clear sense of the work we do, the standards we hold, and whether this feels like the right place for the next stage of your career.

All three routes lead to meaningful client work, responsibility, and long-term development. The difference lies in how we get to know you at different stages of your career, not in the standards we hold or the value we place on each route. Whichever path you take, you will be joining a consulting team that cares about quality, learning, and doing work that genuinely makes a difference.
